Geographie und Reisen – Die zwei vorliegenden Teile der großformatigen Kupferstichkarte zeigen das Gebiet der heutigen Vereinigten Staaten und von Kanada. Die beiden fehldenden Teile ergänzen das Gebiet von Mexiko und Zentralamerika. Die Karten des Wiener Kartographen Schraembl wurden für seinen Allgemeinen Großen Atlas angefertigt. Sie basieren auf den Karten von Sayer und Bennett, beinhalten jedoch die Neuerungen durch Thomas Pownall. Die Karten waren unter den ersten, die das Nordamerika nach den amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskriegen zeigen. - Tls. grenzkoloriert. Minimal stockfleckig und Ränder leicht gebräunt. Mittelfalz verso verstärkt. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltene Karten.

Copperplate map on laid paper with allegorical title cartouche. - The two parts of this large-format copperplate map show the territory of present-day United States and Canada. The two missing parts supplement the territory of Mexico and Central America. These maps by the Viennese cartographer Schraembl were created for his General Atlas. They are based on the maps by Sayer and Bennett, but include the innovations by Thomas Pownall. The maps were among the first to depict North America after the American Revolutionary War. - Some borders are colored. Minor foxing and edges slightly browned. Centerfold reinforced on verso. Overall, the maps are in very good condition.
