(Für die französische Originalausgabe.) - Übersetzt von Eurico Santos. - Der erste Band beinhaltet ein Vorwort, eine Einleitung und detaillierte Beschreibungen von über 164 Vogelarten Brasiliens. Diese im ersten Band beschriebenen Vogelarten wurden dann im zweiten Band in 48 prachtvollen Offsetdrucken dargestellt, welche von Descourtilz selbst entworfen wurden. - Jean-Theodore Descourtilz war ein französischer Maler und Illustrator. Er reiste in den späten 1920er Jahren nach Brasilien, wo er bereits früh mit dem Darstellen der brasilianischen Fauna begann. Sein erstes Werk zu Vögeln Brasiliens erschien im Jahr 1834. - Vor jeder Tafel des Tafelbandes ist ein Seidenpapier mit den Namen der abgebildeten Vögel eingebunden. - Ränder gebräunt. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten mit farbprächtigen und detailreichen Drucken.

(For the original French edition.) - Translated by Eurico Santos. - The first volume contains a preface, an introduction and detailed descriptions of over 164 bird species of Brazil. These bird species described in the first volume were then illustrated in the second volume in 48 magnificent offset prints designed by Descourtilz himself. - Jean-Theodore Descourtilz was a French painter and illustrator. He traveled to Brazil in the late 1920s, where he began depicting Brazilian fauna at an early stage. His first work on the birds of Brazil was published in 1834. - Tissue paper with the names of the birds depicted is bound in front of each panel. - Margins browned. Overall in very good condition with colorful and detailed prints.
