Historia de Animalibus. Iulio Caesare Scaligero interpreter, cum eiusdem Commentarijs. Mit Titel in Rot und Schwarz, gestochener Titelvignette und einigen Textholzschnitten. Toulouse, Raymond Colomiez, 1619. 16 Bll., 1248 S., 12 Bll. Folio. Restaurierter Ldr. d. Zt. mit mod. RSchild (berieben, bestoßen und etwas fleckig).

Zoologie

Naturwissenschaften – Brunet I, 473: "L'exactitude de cet ouvrage célèbre a été confirmée par les naturalistes modernes les plus accrédités." - Erste von Scaliger interpretierte Ausgabe, mit griechisch-lateinischem Parelleltext. - Die von L. Gaultier gestochene Titelvignette zeigt eine Allegorie der Stadt Toulouse. - Vorsätze erneuert. Etwas gebräunt und teils leicht wasserrandig. Einige wenige Bll. mit kleinen Restaurierungen oder Hinterlegungen im weißen Rand. Insgesamt wohlerhaltenes Exemplar.

Natural Sciences – With title in red and black, engraved title vignette and some woodcuts in the text. Restored cont. leather with mod. spine label (rubbed, bumped and somewhat stained). - First edition interpreted by Scaliger, with Greek-Latin parallel text. - The title vignette engraved by L. Gaultier shows an allegory of the city of Toulouse. - Endpapers renewed. Somewhat browned and partly slightly waterstained. A few pages with small restorations or backings in the white margins. Overall a well-preserved copy.
