Natural Sciences – With 22 partly colored lithographic plates, a map, and other illustrations. Canvas with gold-stamped spine title (buried, slightly stained). - Book about the geology, topography, fauna, and flora of Christmas Island. This work by the British zoologist and botanist Andrews was created as part of a campaign to document the natural state of the islands before phosphate mining by the British colonial rulers. - Overall well preserved with magnificent lithographic plates. - Included: J. J. Lister. On the Natural History of Christmas Island, in the Indian Ocean.
