Blindgeprägte Schweinslederbände mit Jesuitenemblem auf Deckeln (Vorderdeckel schwarz, Hinterdeckel blindgeprägt) mit Schließresten (etwas fleckig und bestoßen).

Graesse VI, 138 - VD17 3:009075E - Die über 80.000 Sinnsprüche sind unter mehr als 700 Schlagwörtern und Titeln strikt alphabetisch sortiert. Es diente als universelles Nachschlagewerk und Fundus speziell für Prediger, Redner, Juristen und Geistliche, um Argumente, Zitate und theologische wie philosophische Positionen zu konkreten Themen schnell aufzufinden. - Teils stärker gebräunt, im Unterrand teils etwas wasserrandig, insgesamt ordentliches, dekorativ gebundenes Exemplar.

Literature of 17th to 19th Century – The first German edition of this monumental encyclopedic collection of quotations and thoughts from the Baroque era. - The more than 80,000 aphorisms are arranged strictly alphabetically under more than 700 keywords and titles. It served as a universal reference work and resource, particularly for preachers, orators, lawyers, and clergy, to quickly find arguments, quotations, and theological and philosophical positions on specific topics. - Some pages are more heavily browned, the lower margins show some water stains in places, overall, a neat, decoratively bound copy. - Blind-embossed pigskin bindings with the Jesuit emblem on the covers (front cover black, back cover blind-embossed), with remnants of the fastenings (slightly stained and scuffed).
