Sammlung von 68 Kasual- und sonstigen Predigten, Erbauungsschriften und theologischen Aufsätzen. 5 Bände. Mit zahlreichen, teils großen Vignetten sowie Zierrahmen und -leisten im Holzschnitt. Zumeist Berlin, weiters Frankfurt/Oder und Leipzig, verschied. Verlage, 1775-86. Ca. 2000 S. unterschiedlich starken und beschnittenen, teils minzfarbenen und teils gefalteten Papiers. 8°. Teils marmor. Kalbsldr. d. Zt. mit goldgepr. RTit. und teils Bandnr. auf Lederschildchen, reicher, teils floraler Rückenvergoldung, goldgepr. ornament. Fileten auf Deckeln, Steh- und Innenkanten, Vorsätzen aus mehrfarbig geädertem Kleisterpapier mit unregelmäßigem Dekor bzw. mehrfarbigem gezogenen Marmorpapier, umseitigem, teils punziertem Gold- bzw. Rotschnitt und Lesezeichenbändchen (an den Kapitalen und Gelenken teils eingerissen, etw. beschabt und fleckig).
Theologie und Religionswissenschaften – Umfangreiche Sammlung von Kanzelreden und weiterer Schriften führender deutscher Aufklärungstheologen, alle Bände mit prominenter preussischer Provenienz. - Beinhaltend Predigten anlässlich von Todesfällen, Gedenkfeiern, Huldigungen etc. verschiedener Mitglieder des preussischen Königshauses (u.a. König Friedrich II.) und weiterer weltlicher und geistlicher Würdenträger, Kirchweihen, sowie zahlreiche weitere Predigten, Erbauungsschriften und theologische Aufsätze von Johann Joachim Spalding (1714-1804), Friedrich Samuel Gottfried Sack (1738-1814) u.a. - Provenienz: Die jeweils ersten Titelblätter der Bände verso mit Stempel des Kgl. Joachimsthalschen Gymnasiums (aufgelöst 1956) als Legat von Prinzessin Anna Amalie von Preußen (1723-87): "Gymnasio Reg: Joachim: Legat: Ab Illustr: Striss. Principe Amalia". (Zum Legat: Köpke, F. C.: Geschichte der Bibliothek des Königl. Joachimsthalschen Gymnasiums ... Berlin, 1831, S. 22f.) - Teils enger beschnitten, jedoch ohne Textverlust, stellenweise gering stockfleckig, insgesamt gut erhaltene, wohl unikale Sammlung mit dem editionsgeschichtlichen Schwerpunkt auf Berliner Verlegen (u.a. von Decker, Himburg, Rellstab, Voß und Winter).
Theology and Religious Studies – An extensive collection of pulpit sermons and other writings by leading German Enlightenment theologians, all volumes of notable Prussian provenance. - Bound in 5 contemporary, in parts marbled calf bindings with rich gold tooling on spines, boards and edges, additionally equipped with different types of superb multicolour shell or drawn marbled papers as endpapers and gilt as well as coloured edges. - Containing sermons delivered on the occasion of deaths, memorial services, tributes etc. for various members of the Prussian royal family (including King Frederick II) and other secular and ecclesiastical dignitaries, church consecrations, as well as numerous other sermons, devotional writings and theological essays by Johann Joachim Spalding (1714-1804), Friedrich Samuel Gottfried Sack (1738-1814) and others. - Provenance: The reverse of the first title pages of each volume bears the stamp of the Royal Joachimsthal Grammar School (dissolved in 1956) as a bequest from Princess Anna Amalie of Prussia (1723-87): 'Gymnasio Reg: Joachim: Legat: Ab Illustr: Striss. Principe Amalia'. (On the bequest: Köpke, F. C.: Geschichte der Bibliothek des Königl. Joachimsthalschen Gymnasiums ... Berlin, 1831, pp. 22ff.) - Some pages are slightly trimmed, but with no loss of text. Slight foxing in places, verall well-preserved, probably unique collection with a focus on Berlin publishers (including Decker, Himburg, Rellstab, Voß and Winter).
