Asia Noviter Delineata. 1641/42. Altkolorierter Kupferstich auf Bütten mit Grenzkolorit. Gezeichnet und ausgeführt von Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571-1638). Aus: 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' von Joan und Cornelis Blaeu, Amsterdam. 42 x 56,5 cm (56 x 65,5 cm). Blatt mit werkimmanenter, geglätteter Mittelfalz und verso mit Text, im Unterrand mit gestochenem lateinischem Privilegvermerk.

Dekorative Graphik - Karten – Äußerst seltene und prachtvolle Karte Asiens des 17. Jahrhunderts. Mit dekorativer Kartusche auf dem europäischen Teil der Landkarte, geziert mit Staffagefiguren in Form von Kryptiden, Säugetieren und Schiffen, bekrönt von Manschetten mit der Simultandarstellung von Handelszentren wie Kandy, Kalkutta, Goa, Damascus und Macao, seitlich flankiert von Figurenpaaren, die unterschiedlichen Bevölkerungsgruppen Asiens repräsentierend. - Willem Janszoon Blaeu war Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts Schüler des dänischen Astronomen Tycho Brahe und ab 1633 offizieller Kartograph der Niederländischen Ostindien-Kompanie (VOC). - Leicht gebräunt und lichtrandig, knick- und griffspurig, oben mit einem Riss und einer kleinen Fehlstelle. - Insgesamt gut. Ausgezeichneter Druck in schönem, kräftigem Kolorit mit Rand.
Prints and Engravings - Maps – Hand-colored copperplate engraving on handmade paper with border coloring. Drawn and executed by Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571-1638). From: 'Theatrum Orbis Terrarum' by Joan and Cornelis Blaeu, Amsterdam. Sheet with a smooth, inherent center fold and text on the verso, with an engraved Latin privilege note along the lower margin. - Extremely rare and magnificent 17th-century map of Asia. Features a decorative cartouche on the European portion of the map, adorned with figurative elements in the form of cryptids, mammals, and ships, crowned by bands depicting trade centers such as Kandy, Calcutta, Goa, Damascus, and Macao, and flanked on either side by pairs of figures representing various ethnic groups of Asia. - Willem Janszoon Blaeu was a student of the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe in the late 16th century and, from 1633 onward, the official cartographer of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). - Slightly browned with light edges, creases and handling marks, a tear and a small missing spot at the top. - Overall in good condition. Superb impression in beautiful, rich colors with margins.

Framed tickets are shipped exclusively by a shipping company due to the risk of breakage. Postal shipping is only carried out at the express request and risk of the buyer.
