Fujikawa: Das Dorf Yamanaka, früher Miyajiyama genannt (Fujikawa, Yamanaka no sato, kyumei Miyajiyama). 1855. Farbholzschnitt auf Japan. 34 x 22,5 cm (35,5 x 24 cm). Im Stock signiert "Hiroshige ga", mit dem Zensursiegel (aratame) sowie dem Datumssiegel (Hase 7, 1855) und dem Verlegerzeichen (Tsutaya Kichizo). Punktuell auf Unterlage montiert.

Geographie und Reisen – Blatt 38 aus der Serie "Berühmte Ansichten der 53 Stationen (Gojusan tsugi meisho zue)", auch "Vertikale Tokaido" genannt. - Stimmungsvolle Schneelandschaft in der Vogelschau: Reisende mit Strohhüten und Strohmänteln ziehen durch das tief verschneite Dorf an der Tokaido-Straße, gerahmt von einer schneebeladenen Kiefer unter dichtem Schneetreiben. - Papier altersbedingt gebräunt, an den Rändern stärker, partiell leicht angeschmutzt und fleckig, Ränder teils leicht unregelmäßig, leichte Knickspuren, Farben leicht verblasst. Insgesamt gut mit ausgezeichnetem, detailreichem Druck der stimmungsvollen Komposition mit schmalem Rand.

Geography and Travel – Colour woodblock print on Japan. Signed in the block "Hiroshige ga", with aratame censor's seal, date seal Hare 7 (1855) and the publisher's mark of Tsutaya Kichizo. Hinged at points to a backing sheet. - Sheet 38 from the series "Famous Sights of the Fifty-three Stations (Gojusan tsugi meisho zue)", also known as the "Vertical Tokaido". - Atmospheric snow landscape in bird's-eye view: travellers in straw hats and straw raincoats pass through the deeply snow-covered village on the Tokaido road, framed by a snow-laden pine beneath heavy snowfall. - Paper browned, especially at the margins, soiled and stained, left margin with small defects and losses, light creases. Overall in good condition, with an excellent, high-contrast impression of the atmospheric composition, with narrow margins.
