Hopkins developed his method of estimating uric acid in urine while a medical student at Guy's Hospital '. - Beide Schriften wurden von HOPKINS auf der Vorderseite des Einbands dem legendären Physiologen Carl LUDWIG (1816-95) gewidmet, zu dessen vielfältigen Errungenschaften auch eine Theorie zur Harnsekretion gehörte (siehe G-M 1232). Die Broschüren gelangten später in den Besitz des Neuroanatomikers Lewis H. WEED (1886-1952, siehe G-M 1439-40), dessen Stempel sich ebenfalls auf den Einbänden befindet." - Umschläge brüchig (teils geklebt) und etw. fleckig.
