Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne – Eines von 150 Exemplaren. - Hg. Schellmann Edition, München/New York anlässlich der documenta X, Kassel 1997.
German Post War – Porcelain with a typographic relief. Diameter 26 cm. Monogrammed and dated in the mould. In its original cardboard box with a label bearing the manufacturer's details, numbered here. - In very good condition overall. - One of 150 copies. - Published by Schellmann Edition, Munich/New York, to mark documenta X, Kassel 1997. - The white porcelain plate features a raised inscription running around its rim, quoting a menu of Italian dishes: "Al dente - rocket - mozzarella - tomato - with - spaghettini - secco e vino". Kippenberger transposes this culinary banality into an artistic context, thereby programmatically reversing the relationship between high and low culture. The plate was produced in 1997 to mark Documenta X and is thus one of the last works that Kippenberger authorised during his lifetime - he died that same year.
