Lot 92 Barbara Heinisch. Liegende. 1977. Tempera auf …

Liegende. 1977. Tempera auf Leinwand. 123 x 98,5 cm. Verso signiert, datiert und betitelt. - Ganz dezente Flecken.

German Post War – Tempera on canvas. Signed, dated and titled on the verso. - Very slight stains. Overall in very good condition, the colours are fresh. - The interdisciplinary artist Barbara Heinisch invented process painting in 1976, which was described in 2004 by the art historian Michael Klant as 'painting as an event'. In these interactive painting processes, the body of an outsider is covered by the canvas and then painted. 'My artistic concept for a holistic image of the human being is based on my critical reflections on the self-portrait and on academic nude painting from 1975/76. Even during my studies, I came to realise that everything I saw of myself in the mirror was filtered through the judgement of other people.'
