Lot 60 Friedrich Gräsel. Edelstahlmarkette. 1974. …
Edelstahlmarkette. 1974. Gebürsteter Edelstahl. 30 x 20 x 20 cm. Signiert und datiert. - Leichte Kratzer und Abrieb, sowie Klebstoffrückstände. Insgesamt gut.
Concrete Art – Brushed stainless steel. Signed and dated. - Light scratches and rubbing, as well as adhesive residue. Overall in good condition. - We would like to thank the Estate of Friedrich Gräsel for the subsequent inclusion of this work in the catalogue raisonné. - The present stainless-steel maquette embodies Friedrich Gräsel's exploration of industrial materials and constructive forms. Working with prefabricated steel elements, he developed sculptural structures that establish a dynamic relationship between space and volume. Following his studies in Munich and Hamburg, Gräsel devoted himself entirely to sculpture in 1968 and went on to become one of the leading figures of post-war German sculpture. His work gained international recognition in 1972 when it was presented at the 36th Venice Biennale as the official contribution of the Federal Republic of Germany.
