Lot 448 Julian Rosefeldt. Manifesto (Sonderedition 1). …
Manifesto (Sonderedition 1). 2016. Photographie auf Fujicolour-Papier, in typographisch bezeichnetem Passepartout. 57,5 x 46 cm (75 x 55 cm). Verso signiert und nummeriert. - Insgesamt sehr gut, sauberer Abzug.
Modern Photography – Photograph on Fujicolour paper, mounted in a typographically labeled mat. Signed and numbered on the verso. - Overall in very good condition, clean print. - One of 20 copies. - Julian Rosefeldt's project Manifesto emerged from an intensive engagement with feminist positions and historical artist manifestos. Drawing from over 50 sources, Rosefeldt developed twelve collaged texts that can be read as a polyphonic "Manifesto of Manifestos." In a deliberate subversion of the male-dominated history of manifesto writing, he had all the texts spoken by the actress Cate Blanchett. This photograph shows Blanchett (in the original film context as Mierle Laderman Ukeles) alongside the quote by Kazimir Malevich: "Art requires truth, not sincerity." This connection illustrates Rosefeldt's central concern that artistic truth does not lie in individual sensibility, but in the manifested claim to understand art as an expression of social responsibility and intellectual independence.
