Lot 37 Klaus Staudt. Vertikalspiegelung. 1974. …

Vertikalspiegelung. 1974. Holz, Polystyrol und Plexiglas. 40 x 40 x 6,5 cm. Verso auf Etikett signiert. - Rückwärtige Platte punktuell stockfleckig bzw. mit blassen Wasserflecken, Kanten teils leicht gebräunt. Insgesamt gut.

Geometrische Abstraktion – ED SW1/GR 802.

Geometrical Abstraction – Wood, polystyrene and plexiglass. Signed on label on the reverse. - Rear panel with occasional foxing and faint water stains, edges slightly browned in places. Overall good condition. - One of 75 copies. - "Variation with four positions and mirroring of this complex on the right." - With this work, a vertical mirroring, Klaus Staudt condenses his artistic practice into a precise examination of visual order. The work operates with serial settings and modulated relief structures that suggest vertical symmetry without repeating it mechanically. The mirroring is not understood here as a decorative principle, but as a conceptual framework for a dynamic visual experience. The repetition is not automatic, but rather a concentrated play with minimal deviations that activates the space and refracts the light at changing angles. In this way, the work formulates the concern to understand art as an open system in which order is not predetermined, but can be experienced.
