Trauben. 2005. Farbradierung auf festem Velin. 59,5 x 59 cm (77,8 x 76,2 cm). Signiert, datiert und nummeriert. - Am oberen linken Rand punktuelle, kaum sichtbare Bestoßung, verso im oberen rechten Eckbereich winziger, blasser Fleck, in unterer rechter Ecke oberflächliche Kratzspur, nach recto ganz leicht durchdrückend, insgesamt sehr gut und ausgesprochen schön. Prachtvoller, herrlich nuancierter und farbluzide wirkender Druck mit breitem Rand, an zwei Seiten mit dem Schöpfrand.

Zeitgenössische Kunst – Eines von 90 Exemplaren. - Hrsg. v. manus presse, Ostfildern, mit deren Blindstempel. - Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre beschäftigt sich Karin Kneffel mit dem traditionellen Genre des Früchtestilllebens. Ihre Früchte, vor allem Weintrauben, porträtiert sie in variantenreicher Vielfalt in extremer Nahsicht und hyperrealistischer Perfektion. Ihre Arbeiten bestechen sowohl durch Farbenpracht, als auch einen perfektionierten Illusionismus höchst handwerklicher Meisterschaft. Zunächst suggerieren die Bildkompositionen eine nahe Vertrautheit, bei näherer Betrachtung wird jedoch erkennbar, dass das Natürliche künstlich erscheint. Die Beschränkung der Darstellung auf einen extremen Bildausschnitt und die übernatürlich große Darstellung des Motivs führen zu einer subtilen Neuerzählung des in beeindruckender fotorealistischer Präzision geschilderten Sujets. Die Rispen der hellen Trauben sind opak leuchtend und werden formatfüllend inszeniert. Sie suggerieren im selben Moment nicht nur eine außerordentliche Fülle, sondern auch eine übernatürlich distanzierte Nähe.

Signed, dated and numbered. - Isolated, hardly visible bumping on upper left margin, verso tiny, faint stain in upper right corner area, superficial sratch mark in lower right corner, hardly showing through onto recto, all in all very good and impeccably nice. Splendid, wonderfully nuanced and colour-transparent impression with wide margin, deckle edge on two sides. - One of 90 copies. - Publ. by manus presse, Ostfildern, with their blindstamp. - Since the mid-1990s Karin Kneffel has been exploring the traditional genre of fruit still life. She portrays her fruit, particularly grapes, in a rich variety of forms, captured in extreme close-up and rendered with hyperrealistic perfection. Her works captivate viewers with both their vibrant colours and a perfected illusionism born of consummate technical mastery. At first glance the compositions suggest a sense of familiarity, on closer inspection, however, it becomes apparent that the natural appears artificial. The restriction of the depiction to an extreme close-up and the supernaturally large scale of the motif result in a subtle reinterpretation of the subject rendered with impressive photorealistic precision. The clusters of light-coloured grapes are opaquely luminous and are staged to fill the frame. At the same time, they suggest not only an extraordinary abundance but also a supernaturally distant closeness.
