5 Arbeiten Aus "Ovide - Les Métamorphoses d'Orvid". 1931. Radierungen auf Rives Büttenpapier (teils mit Wz.). Je ca. 32,5 x 25,5 cm. Jeweils in den oberen Ecken im Passepartout montiert. - Altersgemäß minimal gebräunt. Partiell schwach griffspurig. Insgesamt sehr gut. Prachtvolle Druckgrafiken in kräftigen, klaren Abzügen sowie teils mit Schöpfrand.

Bloch: 107, 109, 112, 114, 121. - Enthält: Quatre Têtes d'Hommes, Homme et Femme nue tenant un Linge, Céphale tue par mégarde sa Femme Procris, Méléagre tue le Sanglier de Calydon sowie Deux Lutteurs observés par Trois Femmes nues. Jeweils mit Remarques in der Platte. - Die vorliegenden Arbeiten stammen aus der Suite der sogenannten Planches biffées beziehungsweise Cancelled Plates zu Les Métamorphoses. Es handelt sich um Abzüge der nach Abschluss der Auflage entwerteten Druckplatten. Gleichzeitig bleiben die direkt in die Platte gearbeiteten Remarques sichtbar. - Die Edition erschien 1931 bei Albert Skira in Lausanne und zählt zu den bedeutendsten Künstlerbuchprojekten des 20. Jahrhunderts. Die vorliegenden Blätter gehören zu einer Zusatzsuite, die nur für treue Sammler in einer kleinen Auflage von lediglich 100 Exemplaren auf Rives-Büttenpapier gedruckt wurde. Gefertigt bei Louis Fort, Paris.
Classical Modernism – 5 works Etchings on Rives laid paper (partially with watermark). Mounted in passe-partout at the upper corners. - Minimally toned due to age. Partially with faint handling creases. Overall in very good condition. Splendid impressions with fine, crisp lines, partially with deckle edge. - See Bloch: 107, 109, 112, 114, 121. - Includes: Quatre Têtes d'Hommes, Homme et Femme nue tenant un Linge, Céphale tue par mégarde sa Femme Procris, Méléagre tue le Sanglier de Calydon as well as Deux Lutteurs observés par Trois Femmes nues. Each with remarques in the plate. - The present works originate from the suite of the so-called "Planches biffées" or "Cancelled Plates" for Les Métamorphoses. These are impressions taken from the printing plates after they were defaced upon completion of the edition. Simultaneously, the remarques worked directly into the plate remain visible. - The edition was published in 1931 by Albert Skira in Lausanne and is considered one of the most significant artist's book projects of the 20th century. The present sheets belong to a supplementary suite printed exclusively for dedicated collectors in a small edition of only 100 copies on Rives laid paper. Produced by Louis Fort, Paris.
