Femme au cep de vigne (2). Um 1902. Lithographie auf Velin. 23 x 17 cm (33 x 24,5 cm). Im Stein signiert und mit Bezeichnung von fremder Hand. Punktuell auf Unterlage und unter Passepartout montiert. - Blatt altersbedingt leicht gebräunt sowie partiell mit Lichträndern, Kanten blass angeschmutzt, teils mit zarten Braunflecken, verso mit Resten früherer Montierung. Insgesamt gut. Ausgezeichneter, kreidiger Druck.

Jahrhundertwende – Roger-Marx Nr. 20. - Variante au lavis. - In der vierten Variante der zwölfteiligen Folge "Femme au cep de vigne" verdichtet Renoir das Motiv auf eine einzelne stehende Frauenfigur, due von einem dichten Geflecht breiter, schwungvoller Pinselstriche umgeben ist. Die aquarellartige Qualität der Darstellung lässt im Vergleich zu den früheren Varianten die Umrisslinien zugunsten malerischer Tonwerte zurücktreten und verleiht dem Blatt eine Athmosphäre fließender Bewegung.

Fin de Siecle – Lithograph on vellum. Signed in stone and inscribed by a third party. Mounted in places on backing paper and beneath the passe-partout. - Sheet slightly browned due to age and with some light discolouration in places, edges faintly soiled, with some faint brown spots, on the reverse, remnants of previous mounting. Overall in good condition. Excellent, chalky print. - Roger-Marx No. 20. - Variation in wash. - In the fourth variation of the twelve-part series "Femme au cep de vigne", Renoir condenses the motif into a single standing female figure, surrounded by a dense network of broad, sweeping brushstrokes. Compared to the earlier versions, the watercolour-like quality of the depiction allows the outline lines to recede in favour of painterly tonal values, lending the sheet an atmosphere of flowing movement.
