Aufschwung. 1969. Diamantgravure in braun mit unterdruckter gelber Tonplatte auf Velin. 29 x 38,5 cm (50 x 65 cm). Signiert und nummeriert. - Punktuelle, sehr leichte Griffspur, am rechten unteren Außenrand leichte Quetschfalte und winziger, kaum sichtbarer Einriss (0,3 mm), verso im rechten unteren Außenrand kleiner, sehr blasser Braunfleck, kleine Montierungsreste in beiden oberen Ecken, insgesamt sehr gut und ausgesprochen schön. Ausgezeichneter, stellenweise herrlich gratig anmutender Druck, mit der Tonplatte wunderbar kontrastierend, mit breitem Rand, rechts mit dem Schöpfrand.

Österreichische Moderne – Breicha R 92. - Eines von 40 Exemplaren. - Druck bei Rudolf Lauterbach, Wien. - Rainers Radiertechnik ist von einer höchst gestisch expressiven Ausdruckskraft bestimmt, die für seine künstlerische Auseinandersetzung mit der Linie zeugt. Die Linie ist keine Begrenzung, sondern formiert sich vielmehr in dicht gesetzten Schraffuren zum flächigen Bildsujet. Rainer überführt sie in einem zeichnerischen Gestus in eine kraftvolle Dichte, schafft mit ihr eine werkkonstituierende Form. Entgegen der Leserichtung führen konzentrierte Striche von rechts unten nach links oben, kumulieren zu einem gebündelten Aufschwung. Gesetzt vor gelbem Hintergrund, ähneln sie einem Lichtstrahl, der greifbar zu werden scheint.

Signed and numbered. - Isolated, very slight handling trace, slight pinch pleat on right outermost lower margin and tiny, hardly visible tear (ca. 0.3 mm), verso small, very faint brown stain in right lower outer margin, small traces of mounting in both upper corners, all in all very good and impeccably nice. Superb, wonderfully burr-like appearing and with the clay plate contrasting impression, with wide margin, deckle edge on the right, - One of 40 copies. - Printed by Rudolf Lauterbach, Vienna. - Rainer's etching technique is characterized by a highly gestural and expressive power that testifies to his artistic exploration of the line. The line is not a boundary, rather, it takes shape in densely placed hatching to form a two-dimensional pictorial subject. With a gestural drawing style, Rainer transforms it into a powerful density, using it to create a form that constitutes the work itself. Contrary to the direction of reading, concentrated strokes run from the lower right to the upper left, culminating in a concentrated surge of energy. Set against a yellow background, they resemble a beam of light that seems to become tangible.
