Stehlende Vase. 1981. Acryl auf Leinwand. 151 x 90 cm. Verso signiert, datiert und betitelt. In schwarzer Schattenfuge gerahmt. - Partiell mit leichten Bereibungen. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Neue Wilde

German Post War – Acrylic on canvas. Signed, dated and titled on the reverse. Framed in a black shadow box frame. - Some slight scuffing in places. Overall, in very good condition. - This large-format painting was created during the period when Gerhard Naschberger, as part of the "Mülheimer Freiheit" group and within the context of the Berlin Wilden, was shaping the figurative renewal of German painting around 1980. The title plays on a double meaning: the vase "stands" and it "looms", appropriating the picture plane and overwhelming the space. Naschberger's passion for "transforming a banal motif into a state of ecstatic enlightenment" (Jean-Christophe Amman) is expressed in the painterly energy that takes over the entire picture plane.
