Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne – Ulrich Knispel arbeitet bevorzugt mit einer unmittelbaren, skizzenhaften Bildsprache, in der Beobachtung und Erinnerung ineinandergreifen. Seine Blätter zeichnen sich durch eine reduzierte, oft notatartige Formensprache aus, die den spontanen Charakter des Gesehenen bewahrt. Typisch ist dabei die Verbindung von präziser Wahrnehmung und freier, gestischer Setzung, die den Arbeiten eine besondere Lebendigkeit verleiht.

Overall in good condition. A superb work with graphic immediacy and sketch-like condensation. - Ulrich Knispel works primarily in an immediate, sketch-like visual language in which observation and memory interweave. His works on paper are characterized by a reduced, often note-like formal vocabulary that preserves the spontaneous character of what is seen. Typical is the combination of precise perception and free, gestural mark-making, which lends his works a particular sense of vitality.
