Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.
Modern Literature and Art – With 15 drawings by Beardsley. Liermann, 1911 Cologne. - One of 725 numbered copies on laid paper (total edition 825). - One of the highlights of Beardsley's drawing skills and Art Nouveau book design. "The illustrations for 'Salome' represent one of the highlights of Beardsley's linear-planar ornamental art. ... Art Nouveau elements, allusions to the Per-Raphaelites and Japanese art, as well as Beardsley's satirical humor, characterized his drawings. They very soon became more famous than the text they illustrated and have made an important contribution to the interpretation of Salome as a young, lustful woman. They exerted a lasting influence on 20th-century European art." (Papiergesänge) - Uncut. Edges slightly browned. Overall, very well preserved.
