Severini, Russolo, Picasso, Gleizes, Chagall und ungarischen Künstlern. - Seltene Publikation des MA-Verlages und wichtiger Überblick über avantgardistische Kunstströmungen. Iván Hevesy (1893-1966) war ein einflussreicher Kunstkritiker, Photograph und Filmkritiker. Seit Ende der 1910er Jahre beteiligte er sich an den künstlerischen Auseinandersetzungen der Zeit, zwischen 1917 und 1918 war er Redakteur der Zeitschrift "Jelenkor". Er verkehrte mit dem Umkreis von Lajos Kassák und war eng befreundet mit László Moholy-Nagy, Béla Uitz und Sándor Bortnyik. Die meisten seiner kunstkritischen Schriften wurden in den Zeitschriften "MA" und "Vörös Lobogó", später in "Nyugat" veröffentlicht. Die Umschlaggestaltung beschaffte Sándor Bortnyik (1893-1976), ungarischer Maler und Grafikdesigner. Er wurde vom Kubismus, Expressionismus, Konstruktivismus und dem Bauhaus beeinflusst. - Papierbedingt gebräunt. Buchblock angebrochen. Insgesamt gut.

Original wrappers with cover illustration (somewhat rubbed and soiled, spine with minor defects). - First edition. - With ownership stamp of Imre Farkas on the title page. - The text contains cliché prints after, among others, Kandinsky, Marc, Derain, and Benes. The plates contain illustrations of paintings and sculptures by, among others, Severini, Russolo, Picasso, Gleizes, Chagall, and Hungarian artists. - A rare publication from the MA publishing house and an important overview of avant-garde art movements. Iván Hevesy (1893-1966) was an influential art critic, photographer, and film critic. From the late 1910s onward, he participated in the artistic debates of the time, and between 1917 and 1918 he was editor of the journal "Jelenkor." He associated with Lajos Kassák's circle and was close friends with László Moholy-Nagy, Béla Uitz, and Sándor Bortnyik. Most of his art criticism was published in the journals "MA" and "Vörös Lobogó," and later in "Nyugat." The cover design was created by Sándor Bortnyik (1893-1976), a Hungarian painter and graphic designer. He was influenced by Cubism, Expressionism, Constructivism, and the Bauhaus. - Paper browned due to age. Book block cracked. Overall good condition.
