RTit. im ersten Fach, die Decken in Blindprägung mit drei dreifachen Streicheisenrahmen, wovon zwei ausgerollt mit Porträtmedaillons bzw. Rankenwerk in Palmettendekor, der dritte als Mittelfeld ebenso gestaltet mit Platte im Mittelstück, sowie zwei Messingschließen (Schließenbänder fehlen, kleinen Bezugsfehlstellen, fleckig, etw. beschabt).

Thurnier-Buch: Warhafftige Beschreibunge aller kurtzweil und Ritterspil (...) - Feyerabend verband in seiner Ausgabe Rüxners Beschreibung der 36 Turniere mit Francolins Beschreibung des Wiener Turniers, das der spätere Kaiser Maximilian II. für seinen Vater Kaiser Ferdinand I. veranstaltete, mit eigenem Titel u. separater Blattzählung, die auch, mit eigenem Zwischtentitel, Francolins Beschreibung der Ankunft Karls V. in Bintz enthält. - Provenienz: Kirchl. Einrichtung in Berchtesgaden mit einem einzeiligen Besitzereintrag auf dem Titelblatt, datiert 1665. - Vorsätze und erste Bl. (inkl. Titelbl.) wasserrandig und in den Rändern gering wurmgängig, durchgehend leicht gebräunt, mitunter etw. fingerfleckig, Vorderspiegel mit hs. Eintrag d. Zt. und aufgeklebtem Ausschnitt aus einem Auktionskatalog. Insgesamt gut erhaltene sammelwürdige Ausgabe des prächtig illustrierten Turnierbuchs.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – First Frankfurt edition of Rüxner's tournament book, complete in both parts, profusely illustrated by Jost Amman with 1 large title wood-cut, 2 double-page wood-cuts, 120 mostly large and partly repeated text wood-cuts, numerous heraldic wood-cuts and 1 wood-cut printer's mark. - Bound in a German Renaissance pigskin binding with rich blind embossed tooling on the boards. - For references see above. - Important work on costume history and heraldry, depicting 36 tournaments that took place in, among other places, Braunschweig, Göttingen, Konstanz, Nuremberg, Schaffhausen, Stuttgart, Trier, and Zurich. - Contains, as Part 2: (H. v. Francolin.) Tournament Book: True Descriptions of All Entertainment and Knightly Games (...) - In his edition, Feyerabend combined Rüxner's description of the 36 tournaments with Francolin's description of the Vienna tournament, which the future Emperor Maximilian II organized for his father, Emperor Ferdinand I, with its own title and separate page numbering, which also includes, with its own subtitle, Francolin's description of the arrival of Charles V in Bintz. - Provenance: Ecclesiastical institution in Berchtesgaden with a single-line owner's inscription on the title page, dated 1665. - Endpapers and first leaves (including title page) water-stained and slightly worm-eaten at the edges, throughout slightly browned, occasionally somewhat finger-marked, front pastedown with a handwritten inscription of the time and a pasted-on clipping from an auction catalog. Overall, a well-preserved, collectible edition of the magnificently illustrated tournament book.
