History – Great Britian. - First edition of this early manual on English court etiquette. - Wing F947 - 'No ambassador shall have his expenses defrayed except upon the conclusion of peace, marriages, or baptisms - An ambassador of a king shall be escorted in by an earl at the very least - No ambassador, except a king's, shall be met in the king's coach further away than Tower Wharf.' - With bookplate 'Kalnoky' from the Brodek & Pristejava Castle Library (with handwritten note on endpaper). Count Kalnoky was Austro-Hungarian Foreign Minister from 1881 to 1895. - Somewhat tanned or with slight brown spots, slightly trimmed at the top edge, possibly missing 1 half-title page.
