Literatur des 17. bis 19. Jahrhunderts – Seltene zweite Auflage der pseudonym erschienenen Nachahmung von Laurence Sterne's berühmter "Empfindsamer Reise". - Nicht in KVK und VD18. - Nicht in dt. Bibliotheken und auch im Handel sehr selten, für uns nur in einem Exemplar der Erstausgabe (1770) auf Auktionen nachweisbar. - Aus dem englischen Orginal "Sentimental Lubrications" (1770) übersetzt von C.F. Weisse. Die deutsche Erstausgabe war 1770 ebenfalls bei Weidmann erschienen, vorliegende zweite Auflage ist ident. - Titelbl. u. S. 196 mit Besitzermonogramm. Buchblock etw. verzogen, gebräunt und stellenweise ein wenig stockfleckig, insgesamt solides Exemplar dieses seltenen Titels.

Literature of 17th to 19th Century – Rare second edition of the pseudonymously published imitation of Laurence Sterne's famous 'Sentimental Journey' Illustrated with a neatly engraved title vignette and bound in contemporary cardboard covered with veined paste paper. - Particularly rare in trade and German institutions alike. We have only been able to locate one copy of the first edition (1770) at auction. - Translated from the English original 'Sentimental Lubrications' (1770) by C.F. Weisse. The first German edition published by Weidmann in 1770, present second edition is identical. - Title page and p. 196 with owner's monogram. Book block slightly warped, some browning and little foxing in places, overall a solid copy of this scarce title.
