Paris, Jehan Petit, 1512. 32 Bll., CXC, CLVI, 6 Bll., CCXXIIII, 2 Bll., CLXXV. Folio. Späteres Pgt. mit hs. RTiteln und umseitigem Rotschnitt (Klebespuren am unteren Kapital, leicht bestoßen und fleckig).

Besitzvermerk des Humanisten Phlipp Gundelius (1493-1567) auf dem ersten Titelblatt und teils möglicherweise mit seinen weiteren Annotationen im weißen Rand. - Mit Exlibris der Bibliothek des Graf Christian Ernst zu Stolberg, sowie je einem Bibliotheksstempel der Bibliothek Wernigerode fürstlich Stolberg. - Seltene frühe Drucke der Werke des Origenese von Alexandria (Origenes Adamantius, ca. 184-254 n. Chr.). Er war ein früher christlicher Gelehrter und Theologe und einer der bedeutendsten Autoren der frühen christlichen Kirche. Sein Vater förderte schon früh seine christliche Bildung und er eröffnete später in Caesarea eine Bibliothek und ein Skriptorium sowie eine Schule. - Gundelius (eigentlich Philipp Gundel, ab 1535 von Gundel) war ein deutscher Rechtswissenschaftler und Humanist, der 1493 in Passau geboren wurde und 1567 in Wien starb. Er wirkte zunächst als Professor für Poesie und Eloquenz, später als Ordinarius der juridischen Fakultät und Rektor an der Universität Wien. Außerdem stand er in kaiserlichen Diensten als Kammerprokurator und Regierungsrat und pflegte brieflichen Kontakt zu Philipp Melanchthon. - Tls. vereinzelt leichter wasserrandig. Selten gebräunt. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltenes und sauberes Exemplar.
Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Post incunabula. - 4 parts in 2 vols. With two two-colored titles. Later vellum with handwritten spine titles and red edges on the reverse (traces of glue at the bottom of the spine, slightly bumped and stained). - Very rare. - With a handwritten ownership note by the humanist Philipp Gundelius (1493-1567) on the first title page and possibly some of his additional annotations in the white margin. - With an ex-libris from the library of Count Christian Ernst zu Stolberg, as well as a library stamp from the Wernigerode Library of the Princes of Stolberg. - Rare early prints of the works of Origen of Alexandria (Origenes Adamantius, ca. 184-254 CE). He was an early Christian scholar and theologian and one of the most significant authors of the early Christian Church. His father encouraged his Christian education from an early age, and he later opened a library, a scriptorium, and a school in Caesarea. - Gundelius (born Philipp Gundel, known as von Gundel from 1535) was a German jurist and humanist who was born in Passau in 1493 and died in Vienna in 1567. He initially served as a professor of poetry and rhetoric, and later as a full professor in the law faculty and rector at the University of Vienna. He also served in the imperial administration as chamber procurator and government councilor and corresponded with Philipp Melanchthon. - Some pages have slight water stains. Rarely browned. Overall, a very well-preserved and clean copy.
