Jahrhunderts – Vgl. für das Dekor Raccolta Bertarelli, Carte Decorate, 962. - Heibroek/Greven, Sierpapier, 117. - Nicht bei Haemmerle. - Das Dekor besteht aus einem geschwungenen, kontinuierlichen Akanthus- und Arabeskenrankenwerk, das den gesamten Blattgrund füllt, ohne Felder oder geometrische Rahmungen zu bilden. Die Ranken schlängeln sich in barocker Fülle und Üppigkeit, ohne strikte Achsensymmetrie, was für die erste Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts typisch ist - spätere Rokoko-Exemplare zeigen leichtere, lüftigere Kompositionen. Der Schwung der Ranken ist dabei nie statisch, sondern folgt organisch naturalistischen Kurven - ein typisches Merkmal der deutschen Barockornamenstik nach französischem Vorbild (Jean Berain, Marot). Gut erkennbar sind auf dem Blatt mindestens drei klassische Blütentypen: Tulpen, Nelken, Disteln und Korbblüter. Besonders auffällig sind die kugelrunden Früchte mit Krone - Granatäpfel - und die rispenförmigen, kleinteilig gepunkteten Weintrauben. Die hohe Dichte der Motive und die naturalistische Detaillierung ohne schematische Wiederholung sprechen für Augsburger Produktion um 1720-1760.

Each 34.6 x 32.1 cm (book cover). Hot-foil relief embossing using the copperplate printing process. Probably Augsburg, between 1720 and 1760. See Raccolta Bertarelli, Carte Decorate, 962, for the design. - The design consists of a curving, continuous acanthus and arabesque scrollwork that fills the entire sheet without forming panels or geometric frames. The tendrils wind in baroque abundance and opulence, without strict axial symmetry, which is typical of the first half of the 18th century-later Rococo examples feature lighter, airier compositions. The movement of the tendrils is never static, but follows organic, naturalistic curves-a typical feature of German Baroque ornamentation modeled after French examples (Jean Berain, Marot). At least three classical flower types are clearly recognizable on the sheet: tulips, carnations, thistles, and composite flowers. Particularly striking are the spherical fruits with crowns-pomegranates-and the panicle-shaped, finely dotted grapes. The high density of motifs and the naturalistic detailing without schematic repetition point to Augsburg production circa 1720-1760.
