Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Eins von 900 nummerierten Exemplaren - Hrsg. und mit einem Kommentar von Otto. Mazal, Wien. Die Wiener Genesis mit dem illuminierten Text des ersten Buches des Alten Testaments ist im sechsten Jahrhundert nach Christus im syrisch-palästinensischen Raum entstanden. "Trotz ihres unvollständigen Erhaltungszustandes bietet sie noch immer den schönsten und größten Zyklus biblischer Bilder. Nach der weitgehenden Zerstörung der sogenannten Cotton-Genesis, einer ägyptisch-alexandrinischen Genesishandschrift des 5. oder 6. Jahrhunderts, ist die Wiener Genesis zugleich das älteste erhaltenen Dokument eines Genesiszyklus" (Erläuterungstext). - Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.

Leather binding with blind-stamped title and leather in a linen cassette. - One of 900 numbered copies - Edited and with a commentary by Otto Mazal, Vienna. The Vienna Genesis, with the illuminated text of the first book of the Old Testament, originated in the sixth century AD in the Syriac-Palestinian region. "Despite its incomplete state of preservation, it still offers the most beautiful and largest cycle of biblical images. After the extensive destruction of the so-called Cotton Genesis, an Egyptian-Alexandrian Genesis manuscript of the 5th or 6th century, the Vienna Genesis is also the oldest surviving document of a Genesis cycle" (explanatory text). - Overall, very well preserved.
