Buchwesen - Faksimileausgaben – Eins von 960 nummerierten Exemplaren. - Die Douce Apokalypse gilt als Hauptwerk der hochgotischen Buchmalerei. Sie entstand an der Hofschule von Westminster wahrscheinlich für Eduard I. und seine Gemahlin Eleonore von Kastilien. Der sehr dekorative Ledereinband und die auf dem Original-Seitenbeschnitt wiedergegebenen Miniaturen zeugen von der hohen Qualität dieses schönen Faksimiles. - Druckfrisch.
Books on Books - Facsimile Editions – Full facsimile of the Douce 180 manuscript in the Bodleian Library, Oxford. With 283 partly gilt-height miniatures and numerous initials. 2 vols. Facsimile and commentary. Original leather binding with rich gilt tooling in slipcase and boards with gilt-stamped title. - One of 960 numbered copies. - The Douce Apocalypse is considered a masterpiece of High Gothic book illumination. It was created at the Westminster court school, probably for Edward I and his wife, Eleanor of Castile. The highly decorative leather binding and the miniatures reproduced on the original page edges testify to the high quality of this beautiful facsimile. - Mint condition.
