Silbereinband. Bucheinband aus geprägtem Silber mit reicher figurativer Gestaltung. 1 (v. 2) Schließen intakt. 11,8 x 19 cm (aufgeklappt). Nicht gemarkt. Wohl 19. Jh. 139 Gramm.
Einbände
Buchwesen – Kunstfertig gearbeiteter Einband, wohl für ein Gebetbuch. - Je mittels Flecht- und Rankenwerk sowie Punktlinien in Mittelfeld und Eckfelder gegliederte Deckel mit großem Mittelstück. Der Vorderdeckel zeigt die von einem Engel und zwei römischen Soldaten beobachtete Auferstehung des segnenden Jesu mit Hirtenstab, als Eckstücke sind 4 Propheten oder Apostel zu sehen. Auf dem Hinterdeckel ist die Kreuzung Jesu im Beisein von Mutter Maria und Maria Magdalena zu sehen, als Eckstücke oben zwei Könige und unten zwei Männer mit Schriftrollen. Der Rücken mittels Bandwerk und Punktlinien dreigeteilt, je mit Oval oben und unten, im oberen Oval der kyrillische Schriftzug "Tetr", mittig drei Engelsköpfe.Mit Schließe aus Rankenwerk. Nicht gestempelt. - Mit leichter Bereibung, partiell mit schwachen Kratzspuren, stellenweise gering angelaufen. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltene dekorative Silberarbeit.
Books on Books, History of Paper and Typography – Binding made of embossed silver with rich figurative design. 1 (of 2) clasps intact. 11.8 x 19 cm (open). Unmarked. Probably 18th 19th century. 139 grams. - Artfully crafted object, consisting of covers grouped by interlacing and tendrils as well as dotted lines in centre fields and corner fields, with a large centrepiece. The front cover shows the resurrection of a blessing Jesus with a shepherd's crook, observed by an angel and two Roman soldiers, with four prophets or apostles visible as corner pieces. The back cover shows the crucifixion of Jesus in the presence of Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene, with two kings at the top and two men with scrolls at the bottom as corner pieces. The spine is divided into three sections by ribbons and dotted lines, each with an oval at the top and bottom. The upper oval contains the Cyrillic inscription 'Tetr' and three angel heads in the centre. - With slight rubbing, partially with faint scratch marks, slightly tarnished in places. Overall, very well-preserved decorative silverwork, probably for a prayer book.
