Mittelalter - Stundenbuchblätter
Manuskripte und Urkunden – I. Inhaltlich sind es Abschnitte aus dem Offizium vom Heiligen Geist und marianische Psalmen/Antiphonen, wie sie im Stundenbuch im Teil "Officium de Sancto Spiritu" und "Officium Beatae Mariae Virginis" vorkommen. II.
Manuscripts – Middle Ages - Book of Hours Leaves I. Collection of 2 leaves (4 pages) from a Book of Hours. Partly rubricated in red and blue, with small gilded Lombard initials and colored metalcut border decorations on vellum. Text panel: 14.2 × 9.6 cm (sheet: 17.3 × 11.2 cm). Probably from a French Book of Hours printed in Paris around 1500, in the style of the printers and publishers Simon Vostre, Thielman Kerver, or one of their successors. II. Collection of 6 leaves (12 pages) from a Book of Hours. Partly rubricated in red and blue, with small gilded Lombard initials and colored line fillers. Text panel: 17.4 × 11.2 cm (sheet: 20.2 × 14 cm). Metalcuts on vellum. Likely produced around 1500-1515 in the workshop of Philippe Pigouchet for the publisher Simon Vostre or a close successor of that tradition. Content: Part I contains sections from the Office of the Holy Spirit and Marian psalms/antiphons, as typically found in the Book of Hours under "Officium de Sancto Spiritu" and "Officium Beatae Mariae Virginis." Part II includes psalms, litanies ("Sancte Petre, ora pro nobis," etc.), and prayers-the standard central texts of a Marian Book of Hours. Each page is completely framed by finely detailed four-sided metalcut borders, decorated with grotesques, animals, putti, scenes from daily life and the Bible, as well as Danse Macabre motifs. These highly detailed metalcut frames are characteristic of Parisian prints by Pigouchet for Simon Vostre circa 1496-1508.
