Mit zwei prachtvollen goldgehöhten Initialen in Gold, Rot und Blau und zahlreichen dekorativen Lombarden, sowie reichem vegetabilen Rankenwerk. 21 Zeilen. Eine Spalte. Lateinische Handschrift auf Pergament. Gotischen Textualis formata (Textura). Zwei Spalten. Schriftraum ca. 21,5 x 16,8 cm. (29,5 x 23,1 cm). Frankreich oder Deutschland (Rheinland/Oberrhein), 14. Jahrhundert, (ca. um 1350-1380).

Manuskripte und Urkunden – Zur PALÄOGRAPHIE: Die Schrift weist typische gotische Züge auf: hohe, gerade Schäfte, minimale Rundungen bei Buchstaben wie a, b und d, sowie Ligaturen und Abbreviaturen (z. B. "q~" für -que). Große, verzierte Initialen (rot, blau, gold) und Rubriken deuten auf eine hochwertige Produktion hin, wahrscheinlich für liturgische oder literarische Zwecke. Zum INHALT: Zeigt ein Teil des Missale für das Fest der heiligen Fabianus und Sebastianus, Evangelienperikope aus Joh 4, 5-42 (oder ähnlich, aber genauer Mt 13,3-9), Oration (Collecta) für weitere Märtyrer (Paulus, Archippus, Fredus?), Haupt-Collecta für das Fest Ss. Fabianus et Sebastianus: "Per illum cuius natali muneribus supplicibus qua peregrinis famulis tuis tribuisti confessores et martyres Fabiani et Sebastiani gloriosum consortium in affectionibus nostris locare. Per eundem Dominum nostrum..." Verso mit der Postcommunio (Gebet nach der Kommunion) für das Fest der Ss. Fabianus et Sebastianus. - Zu den INITIALEN: Die goldgehöhten Initialen in kräftigen Ultramarin-Blau und leuchtendem Zinnoberrot sind nicht voll historiert (ohne Figuren), aber deutlich aufwendiger als reine Strich-Lombarden, sie gehören in die mittlere Ausstattungsklasse eines Kloster- oder Stiftsmissales. Der schlanke, nach unten gezogene Initial-Schaft mit knollenartigen Enden der I-Initiale ist ein Motiv, das in oberrheinischen und süddeutschen Handschriften des späten 13./frühen 14. Jahrhunderts häufig vorkommt. usammengenommen stützen die Initialformen, Farben und die moderate, aber qualitätvolle Ausführung eine Datierung ins frühe/mittlere 14. Jahrhundert und eine Entstehung im süddeutsch-oberrheinischen oder angrenzend französischen Raum (Diözesen Straßburg, Speyer, Basel o. ä.). - Pergament mit Resten alter Montierung und mit sichtbaren Wasserflecken und dadurch evozierten Farbveränderungen.

Written in Gothic Textualis (Textura). Two columns. Text area approx. 21.5 x 16.8 cm. (29.5 x 23.1 cm). France or Germany (Rhineland/Upper Rhine), 14th century, (ca. 1350-1380). - ON PALEOGRAPHY: The script exhibits typical Gothic features: tall, straight stems, minimal curves in letters such as a, b, and d, as well as ligatures and abbreviations (e.g., "q~" for -que). Large, decorated initials (red, blue, gold) and rubrics indicate a high-quality production, likely intended for liturgical or literary purposes. Regarding the CONTENT: Shows a portion of the Missal for the feast of Saints Fabian and Sebastian, Gospel pericope from John 4:5-42 (or similar, but more precisely Matthew 13:3-9), Collect for other martyrs (Paul, Archippus, Fredus?), main Collect for the feast of Ss. Fabian and Sebastian: "Through the gifts bestowed on supplicants on this feast day, which you granted to your pilgrim servants, grant that the confessors and martyrs Fabian and Sebastian may find a glorious place in our hearts. Through the same Lord our..." Verso with the Postcommunion (prayer after Communion) for the feast of Saints Fabian and Sebastian. - Regarding the INITIALS: The gold-outlined initials in rich ultramarine blue and bright vermilion are not fully illustrated (without figures), but are clearly more elaborate than simple Lombardic lettering, they belong to the middle decorative class of a monastic or collegiate missal. The slender, downward-sloping stem of the I initial with bulbous ends is a motif that frequently appears in Upper Rhenish and South German manuscripts of the late 13th/early 14th century. Taken together, the initial forms, colors, and the moderate yet high-quality execution support a dating to the early/mid-14th century and a place of origin in the South German-Upper Rhine region or adjacent French areas (dioceses of Strasbourg, Speyer, Basel, etc.). - Parchment with remnants of old mounting and visible water stains, resulting in color changes.
