Jerusalem - Blick vom Damaskustor in den Souk zum Felsendom. 1995. Aquarell auf festem Aquarellpapier. 73 x 54,5 cm (76 x 57 cm). Signiert, verso datiert und bezeichnet. - Minimale Befleckungen and den Rändern, sowie recto und verso leicht atelierspurig, verso mit Vermerkungen in Blei und Spuren ehemaliger Montierung. Insgesamt durchweg prachtvoller Druck in leuchtender Aquarellierung, mit schmalem Rand und allseitig mit dem Schöpfrand.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Unser Aquarell zeigt den Blick vom Damaskustor in den Souk zum Felsendom. Das Werk entstand vermutlich während einer Reise Wagners durch den Mittelmeerraum, in der der Künstler zahlreiche atmosphärische Aquarelle mit den Ansichten diverser Straßenszenen schuf.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Watercolour on heavy watercolor paper. Signed, dated and inscribed on the reverse. - Minimal staining at the edges, as well as slight studio marks on the recto and verso, with pencil notes on the verso and traces of former mounting. Overall, a magnificent print in vibrant watercolour, with a narrow margin and deckle edge on all sides. - Our watercolour depicts the view from Damascus Gate through the souk towards the Dome of the Rock. The work was probably created during one of Wagner's travels through the Mediterranean region, during which the artist produced numerous atmospheric watercolours depicting various street scenes.
