Ursprünglich erworben bei der Galerie Gerda Bassenge, Berlin, 1968. - Stimmungsvolle Landschaftskomposition des in Marokko geborenen Künstlers Jean Pierre Casalta, deren transparent-lasierende, fein aufgetragene Farbschichten eine flirrende, dunstige Atmosphäre erzeugen. Casalta lebte und arbeitete einen Großteils seines Lebens in Montpellier, dessen Umgebung ihm oft zur Inspirationsquelle wurde, so auch der L'etang d'Or, einen an der Küste gelegenen See. - Insgesamt sehr gut.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Oil on laid paper. Signed and dated. Mounted under passe-partout, framed in gold-coloured stucco moulding with floral corner decoration behind glass. Overall very good condition. - Private collection, Berlin. Originally acquired at Galerie Gerda Bassenge, Berlin, 1968. - Atmospheric landscape composition by Moroccan-born artist Jean Pierre Casalta, whose transparent, finely applied layers of paint create a shimmering, hazy atmosphere. Casalta lived and worked for most of his life in Montpellier, whose surroundings often served as a source of inspiration, as was the case with L'etang d'Or, a lake located nearby on the coast.
