Pflug mit zwei Pferden. 1923. Öl auf Pappe, ganzflächig auf Holzplatte kaschiert. 35 x 50,3 cm. Signiert, datiert und ortsbezeichnet "München". Gerahmt. - Entlang der Ränder mit leichtem Farbabrieb und vereinzelten Farbabplatzern als Spur der Rahmung. Punktuell mit feinem Craquelé. Gefirnisst. Unter UV keine Retuschen erkennbar. Insgesamt sehr gut. In frischen, satten Farben.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Merté war ein Münchner Maler, Zeichner und Illustrator. Er studierte an der Königlichen Akademie der Künste München bei Karl Raupp. Personaltypisches Merkmal seiner Kunst ist die große Faszination für Pferde, die er frei in der Natur, bei Rennen oder der Jagd sowie als Zugtiere für die Landwirtschaft und beim Militär zeigte. Die Darstellungen der Tiere waren dabei von einem großen naturalistischen Blick für die Statur der Pferde, aber auch von einem künstlerischen Gestaltungswillen geprägt, der einen freien und dynamischen Pinselstrich zeigt.

Framed. - Slight colour abrasions along the margins and occasional colour chips as traces of framing. With fine craquelure in places. Varnished. No retouches visible under UV light. Very good overall. In fresh, rich colours. - Merté was a Munich painter. A characteristic feature of his art is his great fascination with horses, which Merté depicted freely in nature, at races or hunting as well as draught animals for agriculture and the military. The depictions of the animals were characterised by a great naturalistic eye for the horses' stature but also by an artistic creative will that shows a manner of a free and dynamic brushstroke.
