Genre
Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Hg. F. Silber, Berlin.
Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Colour lithograph on wove paper. With the printed inscription "Published by F. Silber. Berlin Louisen-Str. 53' and 'Painted by F. Hartwich'. Sheet slightly browned due to age, with faint browning at the edges and scattered small spots. Verso with faint spots and an inscription in another hand. Overall in very good condition with a magnificent, chalky print, the colour is fresh. - Edited by F. Silber, Berlin. - The impressive print depicting two elegantly dressed ladies taking part in target shooting in a park-like setting. The print combines a fashionable portrayal of contemporary women with an unusual, rather masculine pastime, thereby subtly reflecting the changing gender roles within the middle classes of the 20th century.
