Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Gustav Bartsch war ein deutscher Maler und Illustrator, der vor allem für seine Porträts und Genrebilder bekannt ist. Seine Werke zeichnen sich durch eine feine Detailgenauigkeit, realistische Darstellungen und oft eine erzählerische Komponente aus. Bartsch malte bevorzugt Szenen aus dem alltäglichen Leben, oft mit einem humorvollen oder erzählerischen Ansatz. Seine Werke sind in der Tradition der Genremalerei des 19. Jahrhunderts verankert und zeigen häufig gesellige Zusammenkünfte, Wirtshausszenen oder ländliche Idyllen. Er setzte Licht und Schatten gezielt ein, um die Atmosphäre zu verstärken, und legte großen Wert auf die Mimik und Gestik seiner Figuren. So zeigt auch die uns vorliegende Arbeit eine ländliche, idyllisch anmutende Szene mit drei Bauernkindern, deren Gesichtszüge und Statur mit besonderer Detailgetreue wiedergegeben sind. - Partielles feines Craquelée sowie punktuell einige kleinere Bereibungen. Insgesamt sehr gut, die Farbe frisch.
Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Gustav Bartsch was a German painter and illustrator who is best known for his portraits and genre paintings. His works are characterised by a fine attention to detail, realistic depictions and often a narrative component. Bartsch preferred to paint scenes from everyday life, often with a humorous or narrative approach. His works are anchored in the tradition of 19th century genre painting and often depict social gatherings, tavern scenes or rural idylls. He used light and shadow to emphasise the atmosphere and attached great importance to the facial expressions and gestures of his figures. The present work also shows a rural, idyllic scene with three peasant children, whose facial features and stature have been rendered with particular attention to detail. - Partial fine craquelure as well as some minor rubbing in places. Overall very good, the colour fresh.
