Herausgegeben von Robert Sayer in London. - Englisches Schabkunstblatt nach Johannes Zoffanys berühmten Gruppenportrait der 1768 gegründeten Royal Academy of Arts. Die Darstellung zeigt eine anatomische Zeichenklasse und versammelt die führenden Künstler des britischen 18. Jahrhunderts als gelehrte Gemeinschaft im Sinne des klassischen Ideals. Repräsentatives Druckgraphikblatt von zentraler Bedeutung für die Institutionalisierung der Kunst in England. - Ränder gebräunt, Blatt altersbedingt mit blassen Flecken, Kanten leicht bestoßen, partielle Bereibungen. Insgesamt sehr gut mit sattem, farbintensiven Druck.

Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Scratch art style on handmade paper. Mounted in places behind a passe-partout. Edges browned, the sheet shows faint age spots, the edges are slightly bumped, and there is some rubbing in places. Overall in very good condition with a rich, colour-intensive print. - Edited by Robert Sayer, London. Engraved by Richard Earlom. - English mezzotint based on Johannes Zoffany's famous group portrait of the Royal Academy of Arts, founded in 1768. The image depicts an anatomical drawing class and brings together the leading artists of 18th-century Britain as a scholarly community in the spirit of the classical ideal. A representative print of central importance for the institutionalisation of art in England.
