Jhd. – Hollstein 75.II - Der Kupferstich des flämischen Malers und Kupferstechers Paulus Pontius zeigt den spanischen Prinzen Ferdinand von Spanien und Portugal aus der spanischen Linie des Hauses Habsburg. Gestochen nach einem Gemälde von Peter Paul Rubens im Museo del Prado in Madrid zeigt der Stich den Prinzen auf einem Pferde, ein Schlachtfeld im Hintergrund. Über ihm kommen ein Adler und eine Frau Blitze werfend herab. - Leicht fleckig. Bis an den Plattenrand beschnitten. Blatt gebräunt. Insgesamt gut erhalten.

Copperplate engraving on laid paper. - This copperplate engraving by Flemish painter and engraver Paulus Pontius depicts Ferdinand of Spain and Portugal, prince of the Spanish line of the House of Habsburg. Engraved after a painting by Peter Paul Rubens in the Museo del Prado in Madrid, the engraving shows the prince on horseback with a battlefield in the background. Above him, an eagle and a woman descend, throwing lightning bolts. - Slightly stained. Trimmed to the plate edge. Sheet browned. Overall in good condition.
