Alte Künstlergraphik
Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Folge von drei Kupferstichen mit Darstellungen von Skulpturen aus den Gärten von Versailles. Mit zweisprachigen Beschriftungen und Nennung der ausführenden Bildhauer (Philippe de Buyster, Balthasar und Gaspard Marsy, Louis Lerambert). Die Blätter stehen im Kontext der offiziellen druckgraphischen Dokumentation der Gartenanlagen unter Ludwig XIV. und verbinden die naturgetreue Wiedergabe der Skulpturen mit der Einbettung in eine idealisierte Landschaft. Als Teil eines größeren Serienzusammenhangs reflektieren sie die ikonographische Programmatik von Versailles mit Naturallegorie, mythologischer Herrschaftsinszenierung und höfischer Festkultur. - Blatt je altersbedingt im Ausschnitt des Passepartouts gebräunt, verso teilw. braunfleckig sowie mit leichtem Farbdurschlag. Kanten teils leicht unregelmäßig und punktuell betoßen sowie mit kurzer Läsur von ca. 8 mm. Insgesamt gut. Mit gratigem Druck.
Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – 3 copperplate engravings after sculptures in the gardens of Versailles. G. Edelinck: Latona with Apollo and Diana, J. Chauveau: The Dancer, J. Le Pautre: Nymph with an oak wreath. 1672-1679. Each engraving on handmade paper. Each approx. 43 x 29 cm. Each mounted on backing board and under passe-partout. Each sheet, due to age, has browning within the passe-partout cut-out, with some brown spots on the reverse and slight ink bleed-through. Edges are partly slightly irregular and have some minor wear, as well as a short tear of approx. 8 mm. Overall in good condition with a crisp impression. - A set of three copperplate engravings depicting sculptures from the gardens of Versailles. With bilingual captions and the names of the sculptors (Philippe de Buyster, Balthasar and Gaspard Marsy, Louis Lerambert). The prints form part of the official graphic documentation of the gardens under Louis XIV and combine a lifelike reproduction of the sculptures with their setting within an idealised landscape. As part of a larger series, they reflect the iconographic programme of Versailles, featuring allegories of nature, mythological representations of sovereignty and courtly festive culture.

A pickup of this work is possible in our premises at Potsdamer Str. 16, 14163 Berlin by appointment. If you wish a shipment of the work, please contact us for a consultation and shipping calculation. Framed tickets are shipped exclusively by a shipping company due to the risk of breakage. Postal shipping is only carried out at the express request and risk of the buyer.
