Dieser besondere große Cron Hirsch von 16. Ende ohne Ohren genant, ist in der Prunst wegen seinem besondern ansehen von sehr villen Kenern bewundert worden. Um 1800. Einblattdruck. Kupferstich auf dickem Velin. 19 x 27 cm (26,4 x 34 cm). Unten mit dem gestochenen Titel und der Verlegerangabe "Chez Fietta et Comp á Kriegshaber pres L´ Augsbourg". - An den Seiten mit kurzen Randeinrissen (der längste ca. 1 cm), oben links die Ecke mit kleiner Fehlstelle. In den Ecken je mit kleinen Einstichlöchern als Spur ehemaliger Montierung. Mittig mit einer vertikalen, geglätteten Falzspur. Blatt altersbedingt angeschmutzt, vereinzelt fleckig, im unteren Bereich vermehrt, auch verso. Dort mit Montierungsspuren und Bezeichnungen von fremder Hand in Graphit. Insgesamt noch gut. Prachtvoller, feinliniger und nuancierter Druck mit breitem Rand.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Hg. vom Verlag Fietta et Comp, Augsburg. - Der Verlag Fietta et Companie wurde von dem Italiener Dominicus Fietta gegründet. Aus Italien nach Augsburg gereist, wollte sich Fietta in der Stadt niederlassen und seinen Verlag gründen. Die eingesessenen Verleger Augsburgs verhinderten dies jedoch aufgrund der drohenden Konkurrenz, sodass sich Fietta vor den Toren der Stadt in Kriegshaber niederließ, welches damals nicht zu Augsburg gehörte, sondern zu Vorderösterreich. Ab 1795 verlegte er neben Graphiken vor allem Guckkastenblätter, für die er Bekanntheit erlangte. Das zoologische Motiv des Hirsches - besonders markant ohne Ohren dargestellt - ist daher ein seltenes Motiv innerhalb des Oeuvres des Verlegers und insbesondere innerhalb der Gattung der Einblattdrucke.

At bottom with the engraved title and the publisher's inscription "Chez Fietta et Comp á Kriegshaber pres L' Augsbourg". - On sides with short marginal tears (the longest approx. 1 cm), the upper left corner with a small loss of paper. Each corner with small pinhole as trace of former mounting. With a vertical, smoothed fold trace in the centre. Sheet soiled due to age, sporadically stained, esp. in the lower area, also on the verso. There with traces of former mounting and inscriptions by another hand in graphite. Overall still good. Splendid, finely-drawn and nuanced impression with wide margin. - Published by Fietta et Comp, Augsburg. - The publishing house Fietta et Companie was founded by the Italian Dominicus Fietta. Having travelled to Augsburg from Italy, Fietta wanted to settle in the city and establish his publishing house. However, the established publishers in Augsburg prevented this due to the threat of competition, which is why he had to settle outside the city gates in Kriegshaber which did not belong to Augsburg at the time but to Vorderösterreich. From 1795 onwards, Fietta published not only prints but above all peep-box sheets for which he became mostly famous. The motif of the stag - strikingly depicted without ears - is therefore a rare motif within the publisher's oeuvre.
