8 Stiche mit Heldendarstellungen. Um 1650. Je altcolorierter Kupferstich auf Bütten. 25,5 x 18 cm (33 x 21 cm). Typographisch bezeichnet sowie teils mit dem Vermerk des kaiserlichen Druckprivilegs. Je zwei Blätter punktuell auf Unterlage und unter Passepartout montiert.

Gemälde, Zeichnungen u. Grafiken 16. bis 19. Jhd. – Mit dem kaiserlichen Druckprivileg "Cum Privil. Sac. Caes. Maj." - Barocke Folge mit Figuren aus der antiken Mythologie, germanischer Heldensage und mittelalterlichem Ritterroman: Hector, Achilles, Siegfried, Herzog Ernst, Olivier, Tristrand (Tristan), Pontus und Florenz. Jedes Blatt zeigt eine dominante Einzelfigur in barocker Rüstungsinszenierung, ergänzt durch Hintergrundszenen und zweispaltige Versusunterschriften in Kurrentschrift. Dem auf mehreren Blättern vermerkten kaiserlichen Druckprivilegs zufolge entstanden die Blätter wahrscheinlich in Nürnberg, Augsburg oder Frankfurt. - Papier altersbedingt gebräunt und mit partiellen Flecken, teils etw. knickspurig und bestoßen. Insgesamt gut.
Paintings, drawings and prints 16th to 19th century – Each a hand-coloured copperplate engraving on handmade paper. 25.5 x 18 cm (33 x 21 cm). Each bears a typographical note regarding the imperial printing privilege. Each of the two sheets is mounted on backing board and fitted into a passe-partout. The paper has yellowed with age and has some stains, there are a few creases and some scuff marks. Overall in good condition. - A Baroque series featuring figures from ancient mythology, Germanic heroic sagas and medieval chivalric romances: Hector, Achilles, Siegfried, Duke Ernst, Olivier, Tristrand (Tristan), Pontus and Florenz. Each sheet depicts a dominant individual figure in Baroque armour, complemented by background scenes and two-column verse captions in cursive script. Given the imperial printing privilege noted on several sheets, the sheets were probably produced in Nuremberg, Augsburg or Frankfurt.
