Varia (mit diversen Schlagworten) – Royal Theater, "Vornehm moderne Klein-Kunst-Bühne", Berlin-Ruhlsdorf. - Hg. J.F. Selten.
Varia and Miscellaneous – Colour lithographs on cardboard, some cut out and mounted. The reverse bears stamps, dates and inscriptions in a third party's hand in places. Some wear and scuffing, with minor losses and fading. Overall in good condition. Magnificent, richly nuanced prints. - Extensive collection of stage decorations for paper theatre, including backdrops depicting a ship, the tropics, a toy shop, a farmhouse parlour, a village, and other interior and natural motifs, as well as figures and motifs from literature, such as Goethe's Faust. With its provenance from a professional small theatre in Berlin, it demonstrates particular cultural and historical value as a testament to the transition of paper theatre from domestic use to commercial entertainment art on the cusp of its heyday. Rare.
