Sammlung Kulissenbilder für das Papiertheater. Ca. 1880-1918. Je Farblithographie bzw. Gouache auf Karton, teilweise ausgeschnitten und kaschiert sowie vereinzelt mit verso angebrachter mechanischer Vorrichtung. Von ca. 36 x 16 cm bis 39 x 48 cm. Verso teils mit Stempel, Datierung und Bezeichnungen von fremder Hand. Teils berieben und bestoßen, mit kleineren Fehlstellen und Läsuren. Insgesamt gut. Prachtvolle, nuancierte Drucke.

Goethes Faust. Mit der Provenienz einer professionellen Berliner Kleinbühne zeigt sich der besondere kulturhistorische Wert als Zeugnis des Übergangs des Papiertheaters vom bürgerlichen Hausgebrauch zur gewerblichen Unterhaltungskunst an der Schwelle seiner Blütezeit.
