- Minimal fleckig. - Insgesamt gutes Exemplar dieses prachtvollen Panoramas.

Photography – Turkey. - Constantinople. - Impressive Leporello panorama containing 10 albumen prints. "Panorama de Constantinople pris de la tour de Galata" refers to a multi-panel 19th-century photograph depicting the city of Constantinople (now Istanbul) as seen from the Galata Tower. It is an albumen panorama composed of ten individual photographs, assembled into a single, very wide cityscape. From the high vantage point of the Galata Tower, one looks across the Golden Horn toward the historic peninsula with its domes, minarets, and densely packed houses, giving the viewer an almost unbroken, horizontal view of the metropolis as it was at that time. This impressive view of Istanbul was captured by the official photographers of the Ottoman Sultan-Jean Sebah (1872-1947) and Polycarpe Joailler (1848-1904). This breathtaking view from the Galata Tower, one of Istanbul's most famous landmarks, offers a sweeping panorama of the densely built-up city on both sides of the Bosphorus Strait and the Golden Horn. It features the old and new Galata Bridges, the Seraglio Peninsula with Topkapi Palace, the Ottoman Bank building (constructed between 1890 and 1892), Hagia Sophia, the Süleymaniye Mosque, and other significant sites on Istanbul's historic peninsula. - Minimal staining. - Overall, a fine example of this magnificent panorama.
