Prints and Engravings - Views – Watercolour and pencil on Schoellershammer wove paper (with dry stamp). Signed on the reverse and indicated on typographical label. Mounted under a passe-partout and framed under glass. - Varnished and yellowed, with slight brown spots on the reverse. Overall in good condition, colours fresh. - Our work is a side view of the west wing of the Baroque palace in Karlsruhe with a summery green area and trees with dense foliage in the foreground. The idyllic scenery is emphasised by atmospheric lighting and late Impressionist brushwork. Graeber attended the School of Applied Arts at the beginning of the 20th century and later the Grand Ducal Art School in Karlsruhe, which suggests that the motif depicted here was chosen from the immediate vicinity.
