China Days. Temple-Hill Cut Outs. Mit zahlreichen montierten Scherenschnitten. Chenfoo, (um 1930). Quer-4°. Blockbuch mit Seidendeckeln (Ränder leicht gebleicht, minimal fleckig, vorderes Gelenk angebrochen).

Geographie und Reisen – Die Scherenschnitte stammen von der der Temple-Hill Presbyterian Mission in Chefoo in China. Scherenschnitte haben eine lange Tradition in China und wurden oft in der Zeit zum Mondneujahr in Fenstern und an Wänden angebracht. Sie zeigten oft Tiere, Pflanzen und Drachen sowie andere Figuren. Die vorliegenden Scherenschnitte sind u.a. unterteilt in die Kategorien Landschaften, Reise, Bräuche, Berufe und Kuriositäten. Eine Doppelseite ist den chinesischen Sternzeichen gewidmet und eine Seite mit einem Rezept. - Ränder leicht gebräunt. Insgesamt gut erhalten.

Geography and Travel – With numerous mounted paper cutouts. Block book with silk covers (edges slightly faded, minimally stained, front hinge cracked). - The paper cutouts originate from the Temple-Hill Presbyterian Mission in Chefoo, China. Paper cutting has a long tradition in China and was often displayed in windows and on walls during the Lunar New Year. They often depicted animals, plants, dragons, and other figures. The present paper cutouts are divided into categories including landscapes, travel, customs, professions, and curiosities. One double page is dedicated to the Chinese zodiac, and one page contains a recipe. - Edges slightly browned. Overall in good condition.

A pickup of this work is possible in our premises at Potsdamer Str. 16, 14163 Berlin by appointment. If you wish a shipment of the work, please contact us for a consultation and shipping calculation. Framed tickets are shipped exclusively by a shipping company due to the risk of breakage. Postal shipping is only carried out at the express request and risk of the buyer.
