Geographie und Reisen – Vorzugsexemplar in Leder der ersten Ausgabe des bis heute bedeutendsten Atlas von Kolumbien, unser Exemplar mit prominenter Provenienz. - Der Atlas enthält Hunderte von farbigen llustrationen, darunter zahlreiche Reproduktionen von Fotografien, Karten, Diagrammen und Plänen, sowie detaillierte Beschreibungen der Kosmographie, Astronomie, historischen Kartographie, Geographie (Fauna, Flora und Ethnien), sowie Detailkarten aller Provinzen Kolumbiens. - Neben vorliegender Vorzugsausgabe erschien eine Normalausgabe in Leinen bzw. Karton und mit einem illustrierten Schutzumschlag. Weitere, jeweils überarbeitete und erweiterte Ausgaben folgten 1969, 1977, 1992, 2002 und 2005. - Provenienz: Mit eigenhändiger, signierter und datierter Widmung auf Spanisch des damaligen kolumbianischen Staats- und Regierungschefs Carlos Lleras Restrepo (1966-70) an sein österreichisches Gegenüber, Bundespräsident Franz Jonas (1965-74): "Für S. E. den Herrn Bundespräsidenten von Österreich, mit der Bewunderung und herzlichen Freundschaft des kolumbianischen Volkes. Carlos Lleras Restrepo. November 1967." - Titelblatt mit Stempel, Inventarstempel und händischer Nummerierung der Hochschule für Welthandel Wien (1975 aufgelöst). - Innen sehr gut erhalten.

Geography and Travel – Atlas - South America. - Deluxe leather copy of the first edition of what remains the most important atlas of Colombia, our copy additionally with prominent provenance. - The atlas contains hundreds of color illustrations, including numerous reproductions of photographs, maps, diagrams, and plans, as well as detailed descriptions of cosmography, astronomy, historical cartography, geography (fauna, flora, and ethnicities), as well as detailed maps of all Colombian provinces. - In addition to this deluxe edition, a standard edition was published in cloth or cardboard with an illustrated dust jacket. Further, revised and expanded editions followed in 1969, 1977, 1992, 2002, and 2005. - Provenance: With a handwritten, signed, and dated dedication in Spanish by the then Colombian Head of State and Government, Carlos Lleras Restrepo (1966-70), to his Austrian counterpart, Federal President Franz Jonas (1965-74): "For His Excellency the Federal President of Austria, with the admiration and heartfelt friendship of the Colombian people. Carlos Lleras Restrepo. November 1967." - Title page with stamp, inventory stamp, and handwritten numbering of the Vienna University of World Trade (dissolved in 1975). - Inside very well preserved copy indeed.
