Geographie und Reisen – Der deutsche Afrikaforscher Heinrich Barth liefert in seinem Reisebericht detailreiche Beschreibungen der Kultur und Geschichte der nord- und westafrikanischen Völker. Er versuchte sich bereits im 19. Jahrhundert an einer interdisziplinären Afrikaforschung und suchte auch den Dialog mit Vertretern des afrikanischen Islams. Teile seiner Sammlung befinden sich heute im Ethnologischen Museum in Berlin. - Frontispize stärker stockfleckig, durchweg leicht stockfleckig. Insgesamt gut erhalten.

Geography and Travel – Africa. - 4 vols. Each with a lithographed frontispiece and numerous other illustrations. Red half-canvas binding with a mounted red label (heavily rubbed and bumped). In his travelogue, German Africa explorer Heinrich Barth provides detailed descriptions of the culture and history of the peoples of North and West Africa. He attempted interdisciplinary research on Africa as early as the 19th century and also sought dialogue with representatives of African Islam. Parts of his collection are now housed in the Ethnological Museum in Berlin. - Frontispiece heavily foxed, throughout slightly foxed. Overall in good condition.
