Eisenbahn
- Insgesamt gut. Filigrane, detailreiche Arbeit.
Technique – Wash in ink on vellum. Signed and titled. Mounted under passe-partout. - This print refers to the English illustration, originally designed and engraved by Isaac Shaw, depicting one of the key events in early railway history. With the opening of the Liverpool-Manchester line in 1830, that railway set new standards for modern passenger and freight transport and became a symbol of the technical and economic progress of the 19th century. On the reverse is a reference to Rudolph Ackermann, a London publisher who distributed relevant views and series of prints on the Liverpool-Manchester Railway. This sheet thus documents the visual impact of this early industrial theme, which extended beyond England, in a standalone Spanish version. Oberall good. delicate and detailed work.
