Dompteur mit Löwen. 1972. Tusche, Aquarell und Kreide auf Velin, laviert. 36 x 51,5 cm. Signiert und datiert. - An den Rändern vereinzelt mit Klebstoffspuren, verso mit Anmerkungen in Blei und mit allseitigen Spuren ehemaliger Montierung. Insgesamt sehr gute, kontrastreiche Zeichnung.

Naturwissenschaften – Hansjörg Wagner vereint in diesem Werk zeichnerisch die beiden Hauptthemen seines Oeuvres, Mensch und Tier. Es spiegelt schemenhaft eine Momentaufnahme in der Manege wider, in der durch den lavierten Farbauftrag unmittelbare Bewegung sichtbar wird.

Natural Sciences – Indian ink, watercolour and chalk on vellum, washed. Signed and dated. - Occasional traces of adhesive on the edges, notes in pencil on the reverse and traces of former mounting on all sides. Overall, a very good, high-contrast drawing. - In this work, Hansjörg Wagner combines the two main themes of his oeuvre, humans and animals. It reflects a snapshot in the circus ring, in which the washed colour application makes immediate movement visible.
